Coke signs up Vijay as brand ambassador

Well, amongst Kollywood stars it’s Ilayathalapathy Vijay who’s been constantly roped in for more brand ambassadorships. Coco-Cola had earlier roped in Vijay as its brand ambassador during the year 2000-03.

Later, as the brand manufacturers felt that the product can peak in markets without any celebrities. Now as Vijay’s popularity is gone ahead amongst young guys especially in rural areas, the product managers have approached him for the ambassadorship deal.

One of the sources revealed that Vijay would start filming for the commercial ad of Coco-Cola’s latest theme of ‘Open Happiness’. Also added that the commercial will be aired within next couple of weeks on all media channels… Earlier, during last year Vijay was offered the brand ambassadorship for ‘Chennai Super Kings’ in T-20 Tournament. One of the leading trade analysts of Tamil Film’s box office collection had recently stated that though Vijay’s recent films hadn’t done extremely well at box office, producers are on their heels of increasing his remuneration.

‘Kuruvi’ fight

The name is ‘Kuruvi’ but the film is getting developed more like an eagle.

‘Kuruvi’ is an important film for Vijay. He should regain the name he lost with ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan.’ ‘Kuruvi’ is important for Dharani also as he has to best ‘Gilli’ victory and forget ‘Bangaram’ flop.

Recently, Vijay did a impressive fight scene for ‘Kuruvi.’ For this, a bar resembling one in a five star hotel in Malaysia was put up at AVM Studios.

Vijay comes here daily to dance at the disco and the scene shows him fighting there with the villain’s henchmen. The fight scenes in ‘Gilli’ were the talk of the town for months. Vijay wants the same of ‘Kuruvi’ fights, so he has taken risks to come up with super fight scenes.

Villu Press Meet

The director of Vijay’s latest flick Prabhu Deva exudes confidence that ‘Villu’ will be a wonderful entertainer but at the same time admits to butterflies in his stomach.

‘This will be more like an MGR film that sends out positive vibes’ says Prabhu Deva and adds that the format would be that of a James Bond film with fight sequences in air, water and on land. So Mr. Prabhu Deva …. does Vijay replace Daniel Craig in Villu?

We’ll know the answer on the 12th of this month as ‘Villu’ releases ahead of Pongal to cash in on the hype that surrounds the film. Dusky damsel Nayantara is part of the project and Prabhu Deva has wonderful things to say about her hard work and commitment.

‘Despite being a big star she has been totally involved in the project and we are all happy with her performance. Her comedy scenes with Vadivelu in the first half will be a laugh riot for about 50 minutes. Vijay is also part of these sequences. The way Vadivelu gets sandwiched between them will be more like a Tom and Jerry show and I am sure that’ll be loved by children’ said Prabhu Deva.

It is very difficult to make a mass entertainer’, admits Prabhu Deva. ‘We have to make an action film and to deliver something that everybody knows is tough. I am happy with the entertainment value that ‘Villu’ has’ said the ace dancer turned director.

Prabhu Deva said he had never declared that Vijay plays a double role but maintains that he’d like to keep that in ’suspense’. When asked if he appears in any song sequence he said ’suspense’.

When questioned what his future projects would be, Prabhu Deva’s demeanor changed like that of a little boy deprived of ice cream and said ‘I can think only after Villu releases’.

Villu censored

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Villu, has been censored on Saturday (January 3). The film has been cleared by the Regional Censor Board in Chennai with an UA certificate.

Villu produced by Ayngaran International and directed by Prabhudeva, is said to be a great action adventure, and will be a treat to Vijay fans.

The movie which has Vijay-Nayanthara-Prakash Raj- Vadivelu, has hit music by Devi Sri Prasad.

The film which was slated for release on Pongal day (Jan14), may be preponed to January 9, to get the benefit of a big solo opening. Nothing has been confirmed as of now, and by Tuesday a clearer picture may emerge.

Azhagan Thamizhmani makes a comeback

Popular producer of films like 'Malayoor Mamattiyan', 'Anbulla Rajinikanth', 'Solai Kuyil' and 'Dharmapathini', Azhagan Thamizhmani is making a comeback into the industry with his latest production venture titled 'Oththaiku Oththa' which is to be directed by Sanjairam. Ajay Krishna, son of Azhagan Thamizhmani debuts as a hero with this film.

In the latest critically acclaimed Bala's 'Naan Kadavul', Thamizhmani played in the role of Arya's father which got accolades for his performance. In the demeanor of a derelict father, Thamizhmani did a wonderful job of bringing the emotions live on-screen. Offers to act have started coming his way but he's determined to be in the production work.

He is producing the remake of "Chinnodu", a super hit yesteryear Telugu movie, the director for which is Kanmani. He is also acting in a movie named 'Yaadhumagi' as the heroine's (played by Sunaina) father, as he liked the script and decided to be part of it.

Vijay's Negligence; Fans Shutdown Website

Vijay fans shut down their website due to the actor's 'negligence'!

This is really a bad news
for Vijay, one of the top-notch Tamil actors who has been trying to capture Rajini's superstar legacy.

A group of young fans who maintained his official fans' website has suddenly closed the website and announced that it was because of the actor's negligence and internal politics played by his close circle.

The actor's official site 'vijaynet.com' was maintained by a group of youngsters. They have been running this site officially with the actor's support. However of late, they have not been getting any financial support from the actor and not even the necessary materials including photos or articles from the actor's side. Finally, they have shutdown the website with a strong note which does not just disappoint us, but the actor and his father S.A. Chandrasekhar who has been grouping crowd for supporting his son as well…

Here goes the exact statement mentioned by them:

Dear Fans,

We have to mention this with huge disappointment that we are closing down Vijay Fans Network (VFN). We are extremely disappointed at taking this step but we are forced to do it because we have not been getting the required material support (official and exclusive news, exclusive stills, etc) from the officials or the actor himself.

We started off a site that would run based on the support it gets from the officials and from the actor which we have almost stopped receiving recently. We are also very much hurt at the ways by which people try to take credit for whatever work that we have done for this site. We as a network of students have built this fans network without any financial support from anyone (and we are willing to continue without any financial support) but we are not willing in any way to give a part of the credit that we deserve for our work. There are some people out there who do not want Vijay to progress forward and we feel that we are not fit enough to fight out a battle with them.

We tried to salvage this site as much as possible but it has now gone beyond our control that we want to give it up once and for all. We have our own lives to take care of and we are now planning to move ahead with our lives. We will still remain diehard fans of Vijay but we will only continue watching his films instead of trying to promote his films worldwide and celebrate or glorify his achievements.

We would like to thank all the fans who have supported us throughout the time when we were running this site. We will still cherish those moments when our site was its peak. We wish Vijay all the very best in his future.
